  1. Its the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory and it came in news recently for detecting d heaviest antinucleus ever detected-anti-alpha..(antimatter partner of helium nucleus)

  2. Looked at first sight like the large hadron collider@CERN....but cheating with tineye confirms that i'm wrong...making it the STAR detector(for Solenoidal Tracker at RHIC)at the Brookhaven national laboratory,United States.sorry!!:P
